WPBundle Kicks Off

So, we’re kicking off WPBundle. WPBundle is a WordPress Themes Bundle that will contain 10 WordPress Themes, 1 huge icon set, and countless other design/development related goodies. For pretty much everyone, this will be the first you’ve heard of this project, we’ve not really spoke about this to anyone – and although we’re not quite finished with the Bundle yet we decided now would be a good time to open up about what we’re doing, and give you guys the chance to have a look in, and even get involved in what we’re doing.

What is in the Bundle?

There will be 10 core themes, and each core theme will come with a variety of different styles. Not just simple colour changes, we’re thinking big. To show just how diverse and adaptable our themes are we’ll be providing complete re-styled theme variations with each theme, as well some more simpler tweaks. We’re really focused on building 10 themes that could be adapted for any use, the functionality to us is equally important as the design, which is why we’re not just offering style variations, we’re trying to build variety into the functionality of each theme.

A quick Video Overview

This is our Progress Blog: We’re officially launching soon

This (What you’re seeing now) Is simply a progress blog. We’ve decided to launch the blog early to keep people updated with how things are going, and hopefully give you an idea of what you can expect from the full Themes Bundle when we launch. We’ll regularly be adding new screenshots, sharing ideas and keeping you up to date with our progress. We’ll also be keeping on top of questions and comments via Twitter, so feel free to follow us and share your thoughts.

Completely Open Source Code

We’ll be opening up our source code the the public. This means that not only will anybody be able to see what has gone into the theme, they will be able to adapt it, and contribute their own variations and fixes back into the community. On top of this, anyone who buys the Themes Bundle will be able to use the themes on an unlimited number of sites and projects under the GPL. We really see this as a chance for us to contribute to the WordPress community, and invite the community to help improve our code and themes at the same time.

Pre-Order and Show Support

We’re allowing people to buy the Bundle early, at less than half price. We’re doing this so that we can raise funds to help build a team of support staff and creative designers and developers to work on some theme variations before we launch, and throughout the life of the project.

Anyone who backs the project via KickStarter before the backing time is over will receive all sorts of special rewards and extras, as well as grabbing the bundle for only $80.

It’s very cheap we know, but we’re allowing the backers, and anyone who’s passionate about WordPress Themes to get involved and provide us with useful feedback and opinions. Backers will have access to early theme downloads and demos, and we’ll give you the chance to suggest improvements and new features. Anyone who pre-orders the Bundle will also receive the finished Bundle a week early, just to get a head start on everyone else. We really see this as a chance to get more faces involved in the project, and help build it into something more valuable for both the community and the buyers.

If you’d like to share info about this project on your blog or website be sure to check out our latest progress in the screenshot gallery, and download our logo pack.
